About Us

Saphumula was founded in 1991 and duly registered in 1994 as a Savings & Credit Co-operative Society (SACCO), with the aim of enhancing the social and economic standard of living for its members. Membership is drawn mainly from the communications and information sector, which currently comprises of employees from Swaziland Posts & Telecommunications Corporation (SPTC), Swaziland Television Authority (STVA), MTN Swaziland, MV Telecommunications (Mvtel), Swaziland Agricultural Development Enterprise (SWADE), Women & Children Hospital, Maganu Production and Royal Science & Technology Park (RSTP). The total assets value stood at E 53.9 Million and membership at 1,035 as at the 30th June 2016.

Saphumula’s vision statement is to be the preferred and leading SACCO with a competitive edge in savings and credit products in Swaziland.

The core reason for the existence of the SACCO is to provide quality products and efficient services that will enhance personal growth to its members at competitive rates.

Saphumula is a Co-operative Society for employees of SPTC, STVA, MTN Swaziland, Mvtel, SWADE, Women & Children Hospital, Maganu Production, RSTP, retired employees of the above listed organizations, other approved employers, Saphumula Staff, Members' Spouses and their Children. To become a member one need to fill in the membership application form and pay a joining fee of E300.00 and thereafter start saving with the SACCO.


The SACCO provides a wide range of financial products and services in the form of Savings and Loans, which enhance personal growth for its members at competitive interest rates.
